We are offering a free week long course to teach you all the basics for a job in hospitality. Gain confidence and learn skills that you can take anywhere. Work in real working environments across the Barossa and learn from local industry professionals.
Over a week long course from December 12-16 you will learn:
- Kitchen skills
- Barista & Beverages
- Customer Service
- Real Workplaces
- Career Support
The course is available to people aged 15 and over, but you will need to be 17.5 years to be eligible to do a Responsible Service of Alcohol Accreditation. No experience necessary. To be approved you must be able to travel to the locations and attend all sessions.
Course Itinerary
Dec 12 – Day 1 – Induction at Ember Pizza
- Front of house
- Prepare dining room for service
- How to carry plates
- How to serve food
- How to serve beverages
Dec 13 – Day 2 – Back of House (Venue to be confirmed)
- Safety
- Hygiene
- Team work
- Workflow
- Basic knife skills
- Prepare sandwiches and salads
Dec 14 – Day 3 – Barista Training at Barossa Farmers Market
- Coffee making
- Barossa local knowledge
Dec 15 – Day 4 – Industry Familiarity
