We’re delighted to announce the appointment of Kate Goodes as the new Campus Manager of the Barossa Regional University Campus (BRUC), commencing today!

Kate’s appointment follows a highly competitive recruitment process that drew an impressive field of applicants from across South Australia and beyond. As a former BRUC student and current PhD candidate, Kate brings a rare combination of academic insight and personal experience — making her uniquely equipped to lead BRUC into its next chapter.

Kate joins us from the University of Adelaide, where she served as Education Quality Officer and University Liaison within the School of Education. There, she contributed to student mentoring, workforce development, and academic program reviews. She also teaches undergraduate and postgraduate education courses through the University of Tasmania, further enriching her perspective on regional learning pathways.

Beyond academia, Kate’s leadership includes roles such as National Professional Development Coordinator at Musica Viva Australia and State Coordinator for the Australian Youth Orchestra’s “Music in Me” program. She’s led statewide outreach, secured vital project funding, and developed impactful partnerships with schools, government, and tertiary institutions.

Importantly, Kate is also a dedicated contributor to our local community. As Musical Director of the Nuriootpa Town Band, former Chair of the SA Chapter of the Australian Society for Music Education (2021–2024), and a mentor in numerous local music and youth programs, she exemplifies the spirit of connection and contribution that defines BRUC.

Kate’s mix of sector expertise, community leadership, and firsthand understanding of the regional student experience makes her an inspiring choice for this role. Her leadership will focus on student success, meaningful partnerships, and regional impact — with a strong belief in the power of education to transform futures.

Please join us in warmly welcoming Kate to BRUC!
