The Agricultural Bureau of South Australia is excited to announce the opening of the 2024 Spirit of Excellence in Agriculture Awards. These awards aim to recognize and support bright young farmers and rural youth in South Australia who are driven to make a positive impact in their communities and the agriculture sector.
This year, two key scholarships are available: the Sustainable Agriculture Scholarship and the Rural Youth Bursary. The Sustainable Agriculture Scholarship, sponsored by the Department for Environment and Water, offers $10,000 to young farmers (aged 18-45) to enhance their personal and professional skills. The Rural Youth Bursary, sponsored by the Department of Primary Industries & Regions SA, offers $5,000 to individuals (aged 18-30) working in any rural capacity.
Additionally, the Lois Harris Scholarship provides $2,000 to a first-year student at the University of Adelaide studying Bachelor of Agricultural Sciences. This scholarship honors the memory of Lois Harris, a dedicated member of the agricultural community.
