Have your say on access to public transport

The Australian Government is committed to ensuring that all individuals, including those with disabilities, can access public transport without facing discrimination. However, there is currently low public awareness of the Disability Standards for Accessible Public Transport 2002 (Transport Standards). To address this, feedback is being sought on how to better communicate these standards to the public.

You are invited to participate in a short, 10-minute survey designed to gather your views and suggestions. Your responses will remain confidential and anonymous and will play a crucial role in shaping communication strategies to enhance awareness and understanding of the Transport Standards.

Why Your Feedback Matters

Your input will help ensure that people with disabilities are well-informed about their rights and the accessibility options available to them when using public transport. By increasing awareness, the overall travel experience for individuals with disabilities can be improved, making public transport more inclusive and accessible for everyone.

How to Participate

Please take a few moments to complete the survey before it closes on Friday 2 August 2024 at 5pm AEST. The survey is available at;

https://tinyurl.com/TransportStandardsSurvey.

If you need assistance to complete the survey, you can reach out to the Disability and Transport Standards team at:

disabilitytransport@infrastructure.gov.au or call 1800 621 372.

Your time and valuable feedback are greatly appreciated. Together, a difference can be made in promoting accessible public transport for all.
